166km (100 miles) cycling event starting from Llandrindod. Controls at Pontrhydygroes, Llanidloes and Abbeycwmhir, plus 3 information controls.

An exciting 100 mile ride, off-road for the majority of the route. Surfaces range from tough track to forest track to asphalt, and fording numerous streams. The bias is towards ‘off-road’ riding, set in stunning scenery throughout.

After an asphalt start – to warm-up the legs, the route frequently changes in both off-road terrain and a constantly changing profile all the way to the first control at Pontrhydygroes. There then follows a chequerboard of route surfaces, forest track, asphalt, track, more forest track, country lanes and finally a smooth descent to the lunch control at Llanidloes. After a pipe-opening smooth climb, the afternoon resumes with a track ascent of Bwlch-y-Sarnau – to drop down to Abbey-cwm-hir – the last bit via a bit more off-road. Onward via lanes through Llanfihangel Rhydithon to crest and traverse mountains, passing ‘Break Neck Waterfall’. Continuing with the off-road theme to crest Gwaunceste Hill before dropping down a quiet green lane to the final stretch back to arrive. This final stretch is on quiet asphalt lanes and a final km on the main road.
